What does material recycling mean, what is a digital product passport, and what role does design play in shaping Europe’s competitiveness? Answers to these questions will be sought at an event held as part of Tallinn Design Festival at the Europa Experience Center.

The central theme of the event is the circular economy in a new era. A 60-minute lecture will introduce the possibilities of the digital product passport—or “digipass”—and the Upmade® approach.

The day will also feature two parallel workshops, both of which require no prior experience. The T-shirt design workshop uses design techniques suitable for beginners and explores composition, color planning, and the creation of visual concepts. In the leather design workshop, participants will create wristbands to which they can add a name or a short message. They will have the opportunity to try out various beginner-friendly techniques, including stitching and riveting.

The day will conclude with a panel discussion titled “Design, Innovation, and the Future of Europe,” which will explore how design supports competitiveness, the green transition, and citizen engagement. The discussion will be moderated by Ivo Krustok, with panelists including Margaret Aus, Ilona Gurjanova, and others.
