Saint-Etienne Design: Creative City for All

Cities today are confronted by numerous challenges. Starting from globalization, ending with competitiveness and relative attraction. They must adopt different strategies to ensure their development, and design plays an active role in it. Towns are also sought after for their particular character and identity, for the quality of their urban landscapes and cultural effervescence.

Within this context, Saint-Etienne invented the new driving forces to its development relying on the creativity of a pioneer territory and using an exceptional tool: the Cité du design. 

In the exhibition a visitor can have a look to city’s 5 dimensions: UNESCO design city, green & sustainable, designlaboratory, creation & innovation, design & health.
