Guerilla Lighting which is organised by Valgusklubi (“Light Club”) gives the inhabitants of the city an opportunity to take part in designing and changing the urban space with the help of lighting. During the event, the participants and the audience gather and choose an object in the city which is given a new face with the help of lighting. Portable lights will be directed towards the object by the participants under the guidance of designers. Everyone who is interested in lighting is welcome to attend and previous knowledge about the topic is not required. This event provides an opportunity to make the disagreeable parts of the urban space more attractive with the help of lights and to learn how lighting can be used for improving the environment. In addition to that, it also aims to show how traditional urban lighting can be used more creatively and how light can be a sight on its own.
