Ethical Estonian Souvenir
In the context of the Design Night we will find out about the most ethical Estonian souvenir.
The competition, organized by the Foundation Tallinn 2011 and the Estonian Association of Designers, aimed to find a beautiful and desirable and at the same time environmentally friendly and ecological souvenir to introduce Estonia. The souvenir competition created excitement among the designers and led to lots of colourful ideas, the jury received more works than it had expected. The competition "Estonian Ethical Souvenir" will end on Friday, 25 September, at 16.00 with the disclosure of the winners and the opening of the exhibition in the Architecture and Design Gallery. The "Ethical Estonian Souvenir” competition that was organised by the Foundation Tallinn 2011 and the Estonian Association of Designers comprises 31 works with traditional souvenirs and surprisingly new approaches among them.
The appraisal board will meet in the beginning of September. Members of the jury are Katrin Remmelkoor - marketing manager of Tallinn 2011, Ilona Gurjanova - chairman of the Estonian Association of Designers, the designers Tõnis Vellama, Tarmo Luisk and Reet Aus, artist Reiu Tüür, Leitti Mändmets - brand manager of Welcome To Estonia, Katrin Arvisto - public relations advisor in the Ministry of Culture, Pille-Triin Männik - Tallinn 2011 programme manager and Andri Maimets - Tallinn 2011 communication manager.
